Wheel Loader Scales – Onboard Weighing Systems

Wheel loader scales are onboard weighing systems mounted on the loader for weighing loads directly during use. They play a key role in industry, construction and material handling by weighing material in motion — accurately and in real time.

We have two versions of scales with different options

What is a wheel loader scale?

A wheel loader scale is an on-board weighing system, sometimes referred to as a loader scale, which is fitted directly to the wheel loader. The scale measures each bucket as the material is lifted, without the operator having to drive to a separate weighbridge.

The system uses hydraulic pressure sensors and a load cell to calculate the weight whilst in motion and shows the result in real time on a display in the cab. With correct installation and calibration, Lundamans tiltable wheel loader scales a typical accuracy of ±1 %.

As weighing takes place during normal loading operations, downtime is reduced, whilst at the same time providing you with a reliable basis for invoicing, order processing and follow-up. Weighing data can also be sent to Lundaserver 2.0 or integrated with your business systems via API, so that the office can keep track of how much material has been loaded, moved or placed in storage.

Our options for wheel loader scales

CERTIFIED (LEGAL-FOR-TRADE) SCALES

A certified scale is a form of authority-approved guarantee that the scale weighs correctly.

IMMOBILIZER

For those who want to safeguard both the machine and the materials. Each operator is given a personal code, which is entered into the scale to enable them to use the machine; all lifts carried out are recorded under the respective operator’s name. A log of everything that has taken place is easily managed on Lundaserver 2.0

GPS TRACKING

Through GPS tracking, you can easily track a specific load from the office. When the operator performs a lift, location information is logged and automatically sent to Lundaserver 2.0. The loading is shown in a satellite image where you can see in which zone each lift is registered.

PRINTER IN THE CABIN

The scale sheet contains information about bucket weight, total weight, date and time as well as a fixed text that is pre-programmed with e.g. company name, material, customer, workplace or car number, etc.

Cooperation with NCC

Lundaman's new weighing system P2 helps our customers take a step into the future by digitizing their loading. Here you can see a little about our collaboration with NCC, where together we develop the scale to make everyday life more efficient, both for machinists and in the office when invoicing.

Users and how our wheel loader scale helps

Here you meet supervisor Erik Goude and machinist Mattias Johansson, who talk about their everyday life and how one of NCC's many Lundaman P2s helps them load correctly.

The information is then automatically sent to NCC's business system when Mattias has finished loading the car.

More features

In addition to this, we have functions such as inventory control to keep track of what is loaded internally, quick buttons to enter repeat customers, order processing in the scale and much more.

Features and working principles of wheel loader scales

The wheel loader scale is an onboard weighing system: sensors mounted on the loader sense the weight of each load as it is lifted and send it, in real time, to a display in the cab. Because it weighs in motion (weigh-in-motion), the operator can monitor the weight of the material being lifted or moved without stopping the machine.

Linking the weight to a specific load is quick and simple, and that record becomes the basis for invoicing. The data can be retrieved manually from our weighing server, Lundaserver 2.0, or sent automatically to your business system through an API connection.

Areas of use

These scales for loaders are used in various industries and applications, such as construction, mining, recycling, agriculture and logistics. By allowing instant weighing during the loading and movement of materials, wheel loader scales enable more efficient material handling and optimise transport processes.

Advantages of wheel loader scales

  • Efficiency: The ability to weigh loads while they are being lifted reduces time consumption and increases productivity.
  • Accuracy: Legal-for-trade verified scales, within ±1%.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Optimizes resource usage and minimizes incorrect loading. Simplifies invoicing, which requires less administrative time.
  • Internal management: Keep track of stock balances and how much of a particular material has been used up.
